Refugee Crisis Goods Donation Christmas Appeal

With Europe facing its worst refugee crisis since World War 2, many charities and groups are asking for help with the recent influx of refugees requiring aid, be it financial donations or through goods being donated. Project Tom is a charity we have been in communication with in previous years, and this year for Christmas, they have asked us to get on board with their Refugee Crisis Christmas appeal for donated goods.

Dare you to move

Over ten years ago, on the Christian music scene, there was a song that really grew big and popular. Even I was listening to it on repeat (I still do every so often!). It’s called “Dare you to move” by Switchfoot. It was made popular also due to a Christian film called “A Walk to Remember”. I remember people had pre-warned me that if I wanted a good cry, this film would do just that… and yep, it did. (side point, I also remember back then Bert made it a big deal and refused to watch it… I’m not sure if he’s still seen it or not? Hmm.) Anyway. Everyone knew the storyline. The main character dies and then the boy repents from his old ways…. (sorry about ruining it for you if you haven’t seen it.)

the power of a praying family

I don’t know about you, but my favourite Pixar/Disney movie has to be “Inside Out”. It’s knocked off all the others (and that’s saying something! I mean I loved the incredibles, nemo, monsters inc etc. but still!)
Inside Out, without giving away too many spoilers, was soooooo good. Why? Because it had a huge emphasis on emotions, changes in life and family. The above image shows of one my favourite scenes in the film, and yeah, it was proper waterworks for me, the two times I saw it in the cinema. (Can’t wait for it to be out on DVD now! I predict more waterworks!)

Season of Prayer: Day 14

There are different times for us to come together and cry out to God in unity. Let’s enter a specific season of prayer, we corporately pray for God’s leading and provision into a new property for us. Praise Him, because we have exceeded the space in our current building, so let’s ask God where he wants us to go next. This time of prayer will unite our hearts, help us to hear him, and teach us God’s own heart.

Food for thought

Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
Psalm 34:8 NLT

Growing older increases your chances of your metabolism slowing down. (I’m pretty sure mine stopped years ago!) But I’m like most girls, conscious of their selves: particularly the body shape. There was a postcard meme trending for a while saying “Everybody thinks a girls dream is to find a perfect guy. But it’s actually to eat without getting fat!” I’d say it’s true, I can’t speak on behalf of every girl out there. But it’s true for me! Could it be true for guys too? Perhaps..
