In the abundance of books on love, this stands out for its depth and maturity. Full of insights, quotes and the author’s own journey.
There are huge selections of Christian advice on the subject of romance, purity and all matters of the heart. What I appreciate about this one is the depth and maturity the author has in sharing on these topics. Instead of focusing on a multitude of points and emotions, she turns the attention of the reader back to the Saviour. That’s not to say she underestimates these very real issues. They are each dwelt with in turn, but also firmly put into perspective. When she shares her own experiences, they are told honestly and without pretension. Overall, rather rare for books of these type.
Passion & Purity by Elisabeth Eliot is currently out of print, but you can get a second hand copy from Amazon or borrow it from Rebecca.
