Fellow preacher humbly examines decline of sermons and causes. For laity, inspires to read, write and think more frequently & deliberately.
The disclaimers that irritated me so much at the beginning of the book suddenly make sense. You can’t use a title like that without them. This isn’t about bashing pastors or a complaint on the plethora of wrongs in the modern church. Instead, a seminary professor/pastor simply and humbly examines why so many congregations lack substantial sermons. As one of the laity, this book has motivated me to read more deliberately, write more frequently and discern more perceptively.
