Yep, it’s back again, it’s that time of year for Operation Christmas Child! After all, it’s going to be Christmas really soon (truth is, I absolutely love Christmas, I really do, to quote from a song, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. But let’s not make this post all about me and my love of Christmas…) But rather, Operation Christmas Child is a great way to spread that love to those that really need love during Christmas.

Every Christmas, the charity Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches teaming up to collect shoeboxes full of items of toys, stationery, and basic hygiene essentials. These shoeboxes are then delivered to deprived areas of the world to be given to children during the Christmas season. Something so simple as a shoebox with a few items can mean the world to a child.

So iD made a special video about this project. We had fun putting fun things into this video. But we hope that this will move more people to putting fun things in to a shoebox to send over to children of deprived backgrounds.

If you would like more information about what items are suitable or unsuitable to put in the shoebox for the gifts, please check out the Operation Christmas Child website.

Our church deadline for shoebox submissions is November 17th.
Jade T is our contact. And the leaflet mentioned in the video can be picked up at the front desk by the church front door.
