When Jesus is walking along the road to Emmaus, talking to his two disciples, he begins to explain God’s plan to them from the Scripture. Luke 24:27 says “And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.”

You see, since the beginning of time, and throughout the Bible, Jesus is being proclaimed. This happens because He is the Living Christ. He’s not static, or just a character in a book. He’s alive, real, Saviour, King, Emmanuel – God with Us.

In 2014, at the BCEC, each week we’ll be going through a different story of the Old Testament. It’s full of intrigue, excitement, and stories. But it’s also full of reflections of Jesus, the unfolding of God’s great plan, and the proclamation of His plan for redemption. We start the new year with creation, and we’ll end 2014 with the prophecies of the Saviour in Isaiah. And in-between we’ll look at Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, and many others.

In one sense, it’s a narrative of discovering the Living God, and Christ’s story from the beginning of the Bible. But it’s also a challenge for us to be daily examples of living God. For the same God who brought to life every person in the Old Testament, is the same God who breathes his life into you.

And at the end of your time here, what’s your story going to be?
Will your life be the reflection of living Christ?
