Because we have all sinned and rebelled against God, we have this ‘Cup of Judgement’ on our hands. This ‘Cup of Judgement’ contains all of God’s anger, judgement, revenge and punishment for all our sins. With the arrival of Jesus, God took all our ‘Cups of Judgement’ and poured into one giant, huge, filthy and vile ‘Cup’, gave it to Jesus and said ‘You drink this’. That means Jesus has taken on all of our sins, anger of God on our behalf, and he bears the judgement that we deserve!
